Favorite Pizza Toppings—and Least Favorites

According to Huffington Post, there aren’t any surprises in the top five favorite pizza toppings: pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, and bacon. There probably weren’t many surprises among the least-favorite pizza toppings, either: anchovies, eggplant, pineapple, and artichokes. 

Meanwhile, USA Today’s poll went a bit deeper and has some arguments to make with HuffPo. While they also had pepperoni as their most popular pizza topping, the rest of their countdown included, in order: mushrooms, onion, sausage, bacon, extra cheese, black olives, green peppers, pineapple, and spinach. 

But what about closer to home in Stickney? How to Cook offers a state-by-state look at popular pizza toppings. In Illinois sausage reigns supreme, as it does in neighboring Indiana and Wisconsin. When you consider places like Salerno’s Pizza who make their sausage from scratch, it’s no wonder it’s a favorite pizza topping!
